Frequently Asked Questions

Do you host private events or weddings year-round?

The Lodge on Echo Lake is closed for private events from mid-June until mid-August when we operate as a summer overnight camp. The Lodge is available to host your event anytime outside of this window. Upon request, we can provide you with a calendar that lists all of our available dates. Contact us at 518.623.5599 or info@thelodgeonecholake.com at any time to schedule your tour!

What is the weather like in early Spring?

The weather and seasons in the Adirondacks are quite a bit different from downstate New York. Spring and summer start in late April and early May so the air can be a bit chillier then expected but by mid-May, Spring has really kicked in and everything is lush, green and beautiful with very little humidity. The Lodge does have an indoor ceremony site so hosting your wedding celebration in the off-season is never a concern.

Can we tour your facility?

Absolutely, we would love to show you around The Lodge on Echo Lake as well the multiple indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony locations and our lodging facilities. Tours are by appointment only so please contact us at info@thelodgeonecholake.com or 518 623 5599 to set up your tour today! Please note: when our summer overnight camp is in session (mid June – mid August) we can STILL show you around, you may just have to use your imagination a bit more.

What is your payment policy?

To secure your date and start planning your event, an initial non-refundable deposit (amount varies dependent on event type) is required. The deposit will hold your date for two (2) weeks until a signed contract is received. The remaining balance is then due in three (3) installments, with final payment of the estimated bill due one (1) week before your event.

Do you have a list of recommended vendors?

Yes, please visit our Preferred Vendor listing for more information. We have created an extensive list of quality vendors with whom we have worked with in the past. This list focuses on all local quality specialists, lodging options and more — as well, it is updated frequently. You can be assured that all our recommendations are based solely on quality and experience.

Can we host a bonfire or any other “special” activities?

“Midnight” Bonfires at The Lodge are one of our favorite “chill-out and relax” options for post wedding celebrations. Firework displays are also a fun and unique way to surprise your family and guests. There are additional fees for both activities which can be discussed with your wedding coordinator at anytime during the planning of your celebration. There are many other recreational options to consider, especially if you decide to host a Weekend Wedding celebration – your wedding coordinator can assist you with this.

Do you offer a “Bridal Suite” and/or any other lodging options?

Yes, we offer a complimentary “bridal suite” as well as limited number of on-site accommodations in the form of private homes suitable for immediate families and/or bridal parties,  private 1 and 2 bedroom cabins as well as open “bunk-style” cabins. All overnight accommodations are subject to availability. We also offer Shuttle Services to two (2) off-property lodging options within a 10 mile radius of The Lodge during the evening of your wedding.  Please inquire about additional fees for the Shuttle service.

Are bedding and towels included?

Yes, we do supply linens, pillows, blankets, or towels for our private cabins and homes. Additionally, your guests will find a small complimentary amenities basket in each cabin. Please note – we do not provide linens for the Bunk-Style cabins.

Do you have a minimum or maximum guest/budget count?

We welcome small parties but do request a minimum of 40 people. Our maximum party size is 200 for events in The Lodge on Echo Lake. During our prime season (Memorial Day-Columbus Day Weekends) we have a minimum guarantee of $15,000 for all Saturday Weddings. Discounts are provided for off-season Saturdays as well as Friday or Sunday events. Please view our Facilities page for information on larger group sizes.

Is there a facility fee?

The Lodge does not charge any facility fees outside of our Wedding Packages which covers food and bar. There is an additional fee should you decide to also host your Wedding Ceremony on site. These fees are dependent upon your total guest count –  but start at $300 for 50 guests. All of our wedding packages are considered guidelines as we most often customize each wedding to suit the bridal couple’s individual needs and budget.

What happens if it rains?

If it were to rain, you could move your ceremony inside to the main room of The Lodge which overlooks the lake via stunning floor to ceiling windows. The decision to move your ceremony indoors can even be made as quickly as two (2) hours prior to your wedding ceremony.

How many events do you host a day?

While we may host multiple wedding celebrations over the course of a weekend, The Lodge only hosts ONE Wedding Reception per day.

Is there a time limit?
